Manuscript Policy
Submission of Unsolicited Manuscripts
Please note that our publication schedule is full for the next two years and that we are not at present accepting unsolicited manuscripts.
We will only look at unsolicited manuscripts that arrive through the post (snail mail) - anything received by fax or by e-mail will not be considered.
It is normal practice to enclose an SAE or an International Reply Coupon if you want a response to / return of your manuscript.
Before you send a manuscript, you should familiarise yourself with the kind of work the various presses specialize in. A representative selection of your work (between 15 and 20 poems) is all that is needed.
We strongly recommend that you try to build up a 'track record' of publication of single poems / short sequences of poems in specialist poetry magazines and journals — you will find them listed in publications like The Writers' Handbook (Macmillan) in your local library — before sending complete collections, as this will give you an idea of whether your work is of the standard required.
N.B. Being published by a vanity press is no recommendation — you are wise to avoid paying for any of your work to be published.
