SOLEIMAN ADEL GUEMAR gives the launch reading of his first collection to be published in the UK, State of Emergency, with TOM CHEESMAN and JOHN GOODBY, its translators, both of the University of Swansea. No. 20 in the prestigious Visible Poets series, the book won a publication award from English PEN. Guemar was born and raised in Algiers where he worked as a journalist, writer and poet, but in 2002 he came to the UK to seek asylum for himself and his family.
