Giraffe

Giraffe

by Michael Grant

A collection of fifteen poems, many of which are dedicated to (or inspired by) great literary figures and artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Sticking his neck out to the fruit
No other animal could reach
this giraffe is like my love for you:
Only a lion could drag me down
and even he must know
the folly of pursuit.
