Words Have Frozen Over, by Claude de Burine

Reader reviews

Another of the superb volumes in this series - Claude de Burine's poems are concise and succinct Universes of somewhere other than where you happen to be at the time you are reading - although a lot of the signposts seem to be very familiar - this is an example of what modern French poetry can do so well. Highly recommended.

a music both lush and astringent - an exquisite lyricism haunting the pages, haunting life - leaves burning in moonlight, across black ponds of intoxicated dream
