Rebel Memories
Temporary Archives: Poems by Women of Latin America (Arc Publications, £15.99) is a 330 page collection of poems, in translation from the Spanish and Portuguese, by 24 poets from 12 countries edited by Juana Adcock, a Mexican poet and translator who lives in Scotland, and Jessica Pujol Duran, a former poet in residence at Surrey University, who is doing postdoctoral research at the University of Santiago in Chile.
It’s a deliberately disparate collection, and does not claim to be representative, but it does offer a fascinating window into the thoughts, and feelings, of women who are rarely heard in this country, with violence a rather disturbing and recurring theme.
