BABACAR SALL is Maître de conférences at the University of Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, where he carries out research in Egyptology and on ancient Africa in general. He collaborated on the UNESCO's History of Humanity: Vol. II - From the Third Millennium to the Seventh Century B.C., a period that encompasses the transition from prehistory to history with the advent of writing. He has notably written for ANKH, a journal of Egyptology and African Civilisations. His publications include Racines éthiopiennes de l'Egypte ancienne (L'Harmattan, 1999); Les voix de l'aube (L'Harmattan, Poètes de cinq continents); and Le lit de sable: Poème (L'Harmattan, Poètes de cinq continents). He is also assistant editor at Editions l'Harmattan.
