Georgi Gospodinov Bulgaria
Georgi Gospodinov (b. 1968) is one of the most well known and translated younger Bulgarian writers. His first two books of poetry Lapidarium (1992) and The Cherry-Tree of One People (1996, reissued 1998 and 2003; Best Book Annual Award of the Association of Bulgarian Writers) were well received by readers and critics. His debut novel, Natural Novel (1999, 2000, 2004) was published in eight countries, including the USA, France, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Serbia. Gospodinov's next book And Other Stories (2001), a collection of short stories, came out in France, the Czech Republic and Austria. His latest poetry collection is Letters to Gaustin. Georgi Gospodinov is editor of Literaturen vestnik, a literary and cultural weekly.
