Jan Baeke is a Dutch poet, digital poet, translator and editor with nine collections of poems to his name. Groter dan de feiten (Bigger Than The Facts) was nominated for the VSB Poetry Prize, and Seizoensroddel (Seasonal gossip) received the 2017 Jan Campert Prize. Translations of his work have appeared in various magazines such as Poetry Wales, The Amsterdam Review, Carapace, Jacket and Action Poetique, and in the anthologies Le verre est un liquide lent (Tours: Farrago, 2003) and Jutro je v tej vlažni deželi (Ljubljana: Beletrina, 2016).

Jan Baeke has translated poetry by Liz Lochhead, Lavinia Greenlaw, Deryn Rees-Jones, e.e. cummings, Norbert Hummelt, Russell Edson, Jack Spicer and Derek Walcott.

Under the name of Public Thought, he and the media artist Alfred Marseille produce digital poems, data poems, poetry films and poetic installations. A selection of their work can be found on www.publicthought.net.

Jan Baeke is currently the festival programmer for The Poetry International Festival in Rotterdam.
