Manuela Palacios Spain

Manuela Palacios is Senior Lecturer of English Literature at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. She has directed four consecutive research projects on contemporary Irish and Galician literature that have been funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and has edited and co-edited several books in relation to this topic: Pluriversos (2003), Palabras extremas (2008), Writing Bonds (2009), Creation, Publishing and Criticism (2010), To the Winds Our Sails (2010) and Forked Tongues (2012). Three of the former volumes are collections of translated poetry. Her other publications include translations of European poetry and fiction, such as Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse (1993), a trilingual anthology of Estonian poetry (Vello ceo nórdico, 2002), and Los ritos de los sentidos, a bilingual, illustrated anthology of Arabic poetry (CantArabia, 2015), as well as monographs on Virginia Woolf's pictorial imagery, Shakespeare's Richard III and articles on ecocriticism.
