I am writing to say how disturbed I was to hear that Arc was to lose its Arts Council grant. Arc is a publisher of great intergrity specialising in poetry in translation. They have been responsible for making available for the first time iin this country the work of many outstanding poets from Europe and elsewhere, and deserve support.
