Arc is a key player in poetry translation, which is a vital part of poetry, and of literature. I am shocked and distressed that the Arts Council could cut its grant to Arc, not by 15%, but in its entirety. I am proud to be one of the very many award-winning translators and poets published by Arc. They have built up a successful and indispensable operation and there is much more to come. This is one of several blunders by the Arts Council which should be reversed without delay.
