From RUTH PADEL, poet
Arc's interests and expertise are unique. A small press which represents brilliantly the UK's claim to large multiculturalism, it publishes excellent homegrown poets from young new prizewinners to revered senior names like Charles Causley, translated voices from all all over the world - Armenia to Algeria, Japan to Italy - and international luminaries from India and Pakistan to Australia and South Africa. Arc is unique also in its fascinating publications on music, which is so difficult to write about well. It would be a tragedy - and a shame for Britain - if Arc's valuable voices fell silent.
