50 years at the cutting edge of poetry publishing

“A meeting point for poets of all latitudes”
— VĂctor Rodríguez Núñez

From AMARJIT CHANDAN, poet and translator

I was introduced to Arc by Daniel Weissbort, the poet, editor and translator. Arc were crucial in publishing book of my poems Sonata for Four Hands (2010) prefaced by John Berger. It is the first full bilingual Punjabi collection printed in the English language. The importance of this edition should be considered in the context of Punjabi being statistically the second most spoken language in this country."

The above quote I sent when Tony asked me for ACE funding application an endorsement pointing out how I felt Arc fits into the scheme of things with particular reference to me being one of Arc's 'prized and highly regarded UK authors'. He wrote back saying: 'Thank you so much for your wonderful words - if that doesn't work, nothing will!'

Obviously my 'wonderful' words or for that matter all the wonderful words by my fellow poets published by Arc had no effect on the ACE decision makers.

I do hope Arc will survive this terrible time and will carry on with their wonderful work.
