50 years at the cutting edge of poetry publishing

“A meeting point for poets of all latitudes”
— VĂctor Rodríguez Núñez

From ELAINE FEINSTEIN, poet, novelist, playwright, biographer & translator

I was appalled yesterday to hear that Arc Publications is going to lose its Arts Council Funding. The Press does a superb job for poems in translation, making them available as beautiful books, with the original poems set on the facing page of the translated versions. I know this is expensive, and that is probably why other publishers avoid it, but it has real value for readers. The editors have chosen both poets and translators with passion and discrimination and I do not think their Press can easily be replaced. I do hope there is some way their situation can be improved.
